Below is a sheet exploring outfit changes for Katherine, just like in the last post about the exclusion of the Mafioso muffin man I also decided to remove Katherine from the portfolio as the design was quite as dynamic as the rest. I did however decide to keep Maddox in, below are costume changes for her character based on reference material Eve provided me with.
My word it's been a slightly testing day so far, so much so I thought it would be a good idea to make a note of it and share the simple but valuable lessons learned... Yesterday I started work on a cleaned up animation test with the aim of having part of it finished to show the group at a meeting this morning. That's right, school began last night... Lesson one, when exporting PNG files from Procreate make sure the background layer has also been unticked! This little beauty cost me a good half hour of playing around and researching and it was nothing short of glorious when I realized the mistake I was making regardless of how basic. Lesson two, when exporting more than one PNG file from Procreate choose the option of Animated PNG which will, as you've probably guessed, export all your layers in one go saving you having to do it one at a time, you beauty! Knowing I had a meeting at 9:30am I dragged myself out of bed at 6:05am to crack on. Lesson three, everything ALWAYS...
Here's the first version of the Eames chair in colour, I'll post the photo I referenced below. Eve had mentioned she wanted a hard edged graphic style finish, I haven't blended any colours, I used three tones for each material...the leather, the wood-grain and the metal with no clear outlines. Here's the final line design again with the colour palette... Eve had asked me to try and create a crisp, graphic finish with no outlines and vibrant colours. I thought I'd also try adding a layer above with the willow charcoal brush to add some texture... Not sure which finish I prefer, I do like using the charcoal on top of the Script brushes block colour. I'll leave that up to Eve. This is just one part of the overall concept piece that I'm designing for Eve, I will share more ideas in a later post.
